Janelle Bendycki is a lifestyle and advertising photographer whose love of art and visual storytelling has led to a career of bringing narratives to life for her clients. Blurring the line between studio and location to show the natural beauty of daylight on her subjects, her work has appeared in publications, galleries and many recognizable national ad campaigns for clients big and small.
Midwest-born and Brooklyn-based, Janelle finds inspiration in the magic of the everyday, from dancing morning sunlight to a good cup of tea. She is available for projects in New York and beyond.
Today I specialize in photographing domestic animals both in studio and on location. I have experience in productions of all sizes -- from advertising to packing to pro bono animal rescue projects. Using a graphic and modern approach my images are playful, humorous, and personify the animal subjects. For me, pets are more than companions who get the slippers... Although, I wish my dog got my slippers. Animals, wild and domesticated, give me happiness, loads of inspiration, and allow me to unleash my creative side (pun intended!). Whether in the studio or on location I enjoy the challenges of working with animals and their handlers. The experience is always fun and rewarding. And to answer your question, yes, I have tons of patience.

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Halfway through my aerospace engineering studies at UCLA, I bought my first camera, and it all grew from there. Upon earning my degree, I went to a beautiful little city on the west coast of France near the Spanish border called Biarritz. It was in this place that I got my first job as a photographer.
I have shot a wide variety of projects both commercial and travel/documentary, and am always taking on more.
Currently splitting my time between San Francisco and New York, and shooting wherever I am needed.
